EP1 Episode 1 – Canterbury Feb 18, 2009

The Guerillas decide to bring new life to a dead stretch of land beside a busy train station. While surveying the site, Dave gets busted by the station manager, Jan, but our silver-tongued spin-doctor not only talks his way out of trouble he actually recruits her as an ally! In the midst of the construction chaos our insider arrives with an urgent message – the council are onto them and are on the way to close them down. The Guerrilla’s have to move fast - to get finished and get out before trouble arrives...

EP2 Episode 2 – Cleveland Street Feb 25, 2009

With over 6 million Australians driving to work everyday, Pete wants to launch a guerrilla gardeners strike at one of Sydney’s busiest streets. As Ally so aptly remarks: “It is smack bang in the middle of urban central”. Pete won’t be deterred so the Guerrilla’s embark on their most ill-advised mission yet – creating a floral oasis on a traffic island in the middle of Sydney’s busiest intersections. Lilly joins Pete’s crusade and rather than using standard planter boxes, she plans to create her flowerbeds by gutting a car and cutting it in half! With a constant stream of police, traffic and roadwork vehicles driving past – how can they possibly get away with it?

EP3 Episode 3 – St Kilda Mar 04, 2009

The Guerrillas head to Melbourne to create a drought resistant fantasy garden. The problem is they decide to make it out of completely artificial materials – trees and flowers included. Midway through the hit they start to lose faith in their wacky idea. Tempers flare – and a disagreement over something as simple as the height of a picket fence almost leads to civil war. The Guerrillas must pull themselves together before their plans fall apart completely...

EP4 Episode 4 – Annandale Mar 11, 2009

Mickie wants to install a gigantic troll in a garden under a railway bridge. Despite reservations the Guerrillas go along with the idea – and encounter all sorts of trouble. The local council pounces – and Dave really has to prove his mettle as he desperately tries to stave off wave after wave of suspicious authorities trying to shut them down. This could be the one the Guerrilla’s don’t get away with...

EP5 Episode 5 – Newtown Mar 18, 2009

It’s hip. It’s gothic. It’s groovy. But ever-trendy Newtown proves a Guerrilla’s worst nightmare. The team decide to construct a bandstand The team decide to construct a bandstand on a dead stretch adjoining busy King Street – a site that is situated right next door to the police station. But it’s the local council who takes them on. Dave has to walk the wire as he fends off a never-ending barrage of officials – both face to face and on the phone. Meanwhile the guerrillas steam ahead – unaware their construction could block a fire engine access lane. This is the hit that created a media storm… a storm that's still brewing.

The Guerrillas try to transform a barren traffic roundabout into a lush desert island. But the local council isn’t impressed. Before the Guerrillas can finish – the local council pounce wanting to shut the operation down.

EP7 Episode 7 – Randwick Apr 01, 2009

On one of their searches for public eyesores, the Guerrillas come across the entrance to one of the nation’s chronically underfunded hospitals that is so ugly, you’d only expect to find it outside an abandoned building. The Guerrillas decide patients and hospital staff deserve better. To gather Intel about the site, Dave and Mickle go undercover as weed busters. But their technique must be suspect as they nearly get sprung by a couple of horticulturalists. On hit day, the Guerrillas pose as volunteers. They are challenged about what they are doing. But this time, it’s not by council rangers or police. A couple of unionists object to a group of ‘volunteers’ putting in a garden that could take jobs away from their members. The union heavies head straight to the hospital manager’s office to complain. Now it’s only a matter of time before the manager heads down to find out what the hell is going on.

EP8 Episode 8 – Balmain Apr 08, 2009

Guerrilla Gardener Pete is determined to hit a decrepit site in the centre of Balmain’s bustling ‘cappuccino strip’ in Sydney's inner west. The problem is though that the site is sandwiched between three of the Guerrilla’s natural enemies – the cops, the court and the council. To make things more difficult, Ally decides to go high profile – installing a model tank and a wharf to celebrate Balmain’s nautical heritage. Are the Guerrillas sunk? Dave decides to help out - by joining a street theatre troupe to create a diversion. But his plan backfires when they attract too much attention.

Synopsis

Guerrilla Gardeners is an Australian television show that was broadcast on Network Ten. The show takes its name and basic premise from the guerrilla gardening environmental movement. Premiering on 18 February 2009, it was axed in April 2009 due to struggling viewership figures and an unsuccessful timeslot change, with a number of episodes still to be aired but was picked up by Network Ten's digital channel One on 26 July 2011. The show has also raised controversy from the activities portrayed in the program.
